About Margot M O'Donnell, MD
Dr. O’Donnell is an ABPN Board Certified psychiatrist in private practice in the Greater Philadelphia area. She previously served as staff psychiatrist and leader of the Women Veteran’s Mental Health Team at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center. She holds an appointment of Clinical Associate at the University of Pennsylvania Department of Psychiatry.
Dr. O’Donnell studied biology, psychology and philosophy and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Villanova University in 2002. She received her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, AOA and Cum Laude 2006 and completed her psychiatry residency at the University of Pennsylvania, where she served as chief resident 2009-2010.
Dr. O’Donnell is committed to treating suffering throughout the life cycle with special attention to the role of positive psychology and holistic interventions. She works collaboratively with patients, including college students, people struggling with addiction and women facing transitions like pregnancy, parenting and menopause.
Dr. O’Donnell has extensive experience in teaching and training. Additionally, she holds specialized certifications in the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) from the Center for Treatment and Study of Anxiety at the University of Pennsylvania.
